The first reason is that the chair or to be more exact the chair back is probably the first piece of furniture that your eyes see when you walk into a dining room. As this is the case the look of the chair back has to be excellent because we all know that first impressions are extremely important.
Defining a space: If you have an open area dining room that shares a space with a living room or kitchen area, an area rug will help you define the dining room without using walls. Choose a rug that uses colors from adjoining spaces but still defines the space. Therefore a mixture of neutrals from the surrounding rooms with a punch of an accent color to match the dining room chairs would be perfect.
There are various styles of dining room chairs, and the ones you choose should be in line with your dining area`s staging plan, not to mention the rest of the homes. For more formal dining areas, for example, suitable dining chairs would be velvet-padded or with satin covers and elegant patterns for a tinge of understated sophistication; patterns that are too loud or brightly-colored would be distracting.
